Nigel Wilcock is the Executive Director of the Institute of Economic Development. The Institute of Economic Development is the professional body that furthers the aims of the profession and seeks to place economic development on the agenda of policy makers and at the same time supports the professional development of its membership base. Nigel has 30 years’ experience in economic development. Originally leading the inward investment approach of the North West Development Agency, he then joined Ernst & Young as the Regional Development Director working on large scale economic development and regeneration projects in the UK and internationally. In 2009 he created the economics practice Mickledore which advises central and local government on economic development strategies and interventions. He continues to lead Mickledore as well as undertake his responsibilities for the IED.
