To offer the kind of careers advice that Ofsted is looking for, you need insight that is accurate and reliable, and which can show learners the link between your courses and related careers in their area. Our aim is to help you by offering this kind of high quality, localised careers insight and a highly intuitive platform to deliver it to your students.
Many careers solutions on the market are unable to show the relationship between your courses and potential careers, and they also typically identify job demand only at the broad regional level.
Our approach is very different. Our economists have developed a methodology which not only models Government datasets together to enable the identification of job demand down to the local authority level, but which also maps that local demand to your courses. This means that your careers advisors can use our data to empower your learners to make informed decisions, based on solid insight about potential careers which are related to their courses.
Our careers insight, which includes data on job demand, salary potential, related careers and transferrable skills, is accessed via a web portal. Here are just some of the ways our customers are using it to embed careers insights throughout their college.
Our insight is being used by careers advisors in both 1-2-1 and group sessions to help learners understand the local labour market realities for the potential careers they are hoping to do in their area after completing their course.
A number of colleges train tutors on how to use the data, so that it can be incorporated into lesson plans, in order to give learners direction on the career options available to them in their area which are related to their course.
Many of our partner colleges have used our insight in their Ofsted inspections to demonstrate that they are providing locally relevant careers advice, and the quality of our insight has been recognised in a number of Ofsted reports.
