The UK’s biggest online learning provider, The Skills Network (TSN), has just published an important new report, which uses Emsi data to highlight the top 10 most sought-after skills being demanded by employers in the UK right now.
The report aims to help those who are unemployed or who have been made redundant to identify the abilities employers are looking for in their local region. To help those candidates looking for a new position in their local area, TSN has also developed an online app, which provides a personalised and bespoke list of the top 15 most sought-after skills and roles available in their local area. It is hoped this application will help people find the most appropriate position for them no matter which sector they worked in previously.
According to Mark Dawe, CEO at TSN:
“At The Skills Network, we offer distance learning, as a way of learning remotely and achieving new qualifications without attending lessons or lectures in a classroom. We’d urge anyone currently looking for their next role to consider online learning as a way to bolster their CV – and to tap-into the knowledge of the skills that employers are recruiting for.
With unemployment figures rising and the government furlough scheme due to end, our report provides job seekers with the knowledge of the most in-demand skills in the job market, right now — and the insight into the key areas to focus any training.”
Emsi UK’s Managing Director, Andy Durman, commented:
“The huge disruption to the economy this year has revealed a number of new labour market challenges, as well as exacerbating some existing ones, such as the already widening skills gap and the challenge brought about by increased automation.
We are therefore thrilled to be partnering with The Skills Network to bring some of our data and insight to these issues, and we hope that this report will help those who have been made unemployed to think about the kinds of skills they might look to acquire to boost their employability.”
You can download a copy of the full report from TSN’s website here. We are also hosting a joint webinar on 24th November, where we’ll be considering how data can be used to identify current skills demand, and how TSN have integrated skills development into their online learning content, which you can register for here.
