The second speaker at the 2020 Emsi Conference is Kevin Lloyd, who is the Local Industrial Strategy Lead at Enterprise M3 LEP.
Kevin has a wealth of experience on the perspectives of different organisations regarding some of the major policy issues affecting local areas over the last 30 years, having worked for over 20 years in central government as a senior civil servant, as well as at regional level for London Councils, a London borough, a county council, a Local Enterprise Partnership, and as a consultant for a number of third sector organisations.
Following on from the education provider’s response to The Great British Talent Challenge, Kevin will give us the view from the economic development perspective. This will include what he sees are the big issues around talent and skills facing the nation; how LEPs and Local Authorities can respond; how economic developers can be working in partnership with local education providers and employers to help solve these issues; plus a look at the main things that need to happen to close the gap between talent supply and demand in the future?
