We are pleased to announce that we have switched the maps in our Analyst tool so that they now run on the Google Maps engine. With this new function, it is now much easier for users to visualise our data and explore regions, counties/unitary authorities and local authorities, as well as enabling users to overlay our fine-grained industry, occupation, and demographic data for any standard or custom region.
The major benefits of the switch to Google Maps are as follows:
- You can now zoom into specific regions and sections of cities. For our core industry and occupation data, this includes seeing LMI trends down to the local authority level
- You can export presentation-ready maps that are visually more appealing and more detailed than before
- The new maps feature the latest highways, roads, landmarks, and business locators that are standard on Google Maps
- There are various custom map styles, including a standard map style which looks exactly like Google Maps, and a minimal style which has fewer roads and landmarks
