In the fifth part of our series looking at Middle Skills growth throughout Britain (previous parts have looked at Britain, Scotland, North West and North East), we move on to Yorkshire and the Humber (we are defining Middle Skills as Professional Occupations, Administrative and Secretarial Occupations, Associate Professional and Technical Occupations, and Skilled Trades Occupations at educational levels 3-7).
In terms of the big picture, our data tells us that the current situation and future trends for the region are as follows:
- There are currently 861,115 Middle Skills jobs in Yorkshire and the Humber
- This is set to rise to around 874,456 jobs by 2018
- The number of Middle Skills jobs in the region is therefore expected to grow by 13,341 over the next three years
