Our first part in this series looked at where the Middle Skills growth is likely to be over the next three years across Britain as a whole (we are defining Middle Skills as Professional Occupations, Administrative and Secretarial Occupations, Associate Professional and Technical Occupations, and Skilled Trades Occupations at educational levels 3-7). We now want to start honing in on specific regions, and we begin in this piece by looking at Scotland.
According to our data, the situation in Scotland now and over the next three years is as follows:
- There are currently 982,666 Middle Skills jobs in Scotland
- This is expected to rise to 999,116 jobs by 2018
- The expected growth in Middle Skills jobs in Scotland over the next three years is therefore 16,450
