We drew attention yesterday to Burton & South Derbyshire College’s great use of our Labour Market Information to promote the college. Almost immediately after that piece was published, another great example of a college using our data in an innovative way to promote their college was drawn to our attention.
This time the college is Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College (EHWLC), and the product they are showcasing is our Economic Impact Study (EIS). We have long said that the EIS should not be seen as an end in itself — a nice set of numbers measuring the value of a college — but rather as a means to open a number of other doors, including stakeholder engagement, funding bids, and college marketing, some of which you can read about here.
At EHWLC, they have clearly seen the great potential their EIS results have in promoting the College to the community, employers and learners. Off the back of their study they have produced a short brochure, which does a great job of combining the research of our economists with some pretty cool infographics, to show clearly why EHWLC is so crucial to the area.
We have reproduced a couple of pages from the document below, to give you some idea of what sorts of things can be done, and for further ideas, you can access the full PDF here.
