Our work in the UK has so far mainly concentrated on the Further Education sector, and 2014 has seen us very much establish ourselves in that market with around 100 customers. However, our data and tools are just as needed in the Higher Education sector, and we hope that 2015 will see many universities as well as colleges benefitting from our unique economic intelligence.
To achieve that goal, Dr. Jamie Mackay joins us as Business Development Manager for Higher Education, where he will be responsible for sales and customer support for HE clients. Jamie comes to us with a long track record in the HE sector, with particular specialisms in widening participation, marketing, recruitment and partnerships. Before joining us, Jamie was Partnership Development Manager at Southampton Solent University, where he had responsibility for developing and maintaining partnerships with key feeder colleges and significant businesses — all from scratch!
Jamie holds both a degree and Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Reading, which is where he first became interested in the importance of HE in changing peoples’ lives and helping drive the economy. Joining EMSI gives him the opportunity to pursue that interest further, helping universities understand their local economies by using our data and tools, so that they can be even more focussed on their goals of changing lives and driving growth.
He lives with his wife and daughter in Basingstoke and can be contacted at Jamie.Mackay@economicmodelling.co.uk.
