So far this year we have had User Group events in the South and Midlands, plus a special Economic Impact Study User Group in London. On October 15th it will be the turn of the North, when we will be holding another User Group, this time at Preston’s College (Fulwood Campus, St. Vincents Road, Preston, PR2 8UR).
Given the current government focus for the Further Education sector around outcomes-based success measures and careers guidance using Labout Market Information (LMI), the use of good local labour market and economic intelligence is becoming increasingly indispensable to colleges. This event will seek to explore some of the many ways in which colleges can take this type of data and use it for great strategic benefit.
The speakers and their subjects are as follows:
Melissa Conlon — Head of Enterprise & Andrew Richardson — Head of recruitment, Preston’s College
Melissa and Andrew will be sharing how EMSI’s Analyst tool can be used to support regional development activities and help colleges to become a strategic partner for LEPs and local councils.
Craig Millar — Marketing Manager, New College Durham
Craig will be talking about how Career Coach integrates with social media, marketing and student recruitment activities.
Ian Nixon — Executive Director, Commercial Activity, Sunderland College
Ian will be speaking about how Labour Market Information fits with strategic workforce planning and how it can be used to take employer engagement to the next level.
The event, which is free, will run from 12pm until 4pm, and will include a buffet lunch, teas and coffees, along with plenty of time for good discussion. To register your intention to attend, please fill out the form here.
