On Thursday 26th June, we are joining with City & Guilds — our Advance partner — to hold a one day training event in London aimed at college curriculum leaders and senior management. Aligning Courses and Strategies to the Local Labour Market will seek to inform decision makers how they can better understand their local labour market, so that they can take steps to more closely shape the college’s curriculum according to the needs of the local community.
The event will demonstrate processes that can be used to identify occupations, skills and courses, which can in turn be incorporated into the curriculum and strategic operations of a college. We are aiming to cover the following areas:
- Describing and understanding the various types of Labour Market Information and its uses in the marketplace
- Market demand for skills and course alignment
- Business engagement and communication of occupation needs
- Occupational competencies and compatibility with alternative careers
The event is being held from 10:00 – 16:00 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, and the cost for the day is £150. To find out more details, and to book your place, click to go through to the City & Guilds website.
