Since the year 2,000, EMSI have conducted over 1,300 Economic Impact Studies for Further and Higher Education institutions in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK. Since 2008, we have carried out more than 130 studies in the UK alone, and with each one that we do the value of these institutions to learners, businesses, taxpayers and society becomes increasingly evident.
Part of our vision is to make sure we are blessing our customers, which means — amongst other things — that we want to ensure people are getting the most out of their Economic Impact Study. There are a whole range of uses and applications of these studies beyond the headline figures, and we want to make these aspects more widely known to our customers.
To this end, we will be holding an Economic Impact Study User Group in London on May 22nd (venue to be confirmed). The User Group will bring together Principals and Senior Managers to discuss the many different applications of Economic Impact Studies and to share best practice. The event will feature presentations and case studies looking at how the EIS can be used for:
• OFSTED and governance
• Student recruitment
• Bidding for income
• LEP/business engagement
• Strategic planning and internal reporting
• Government policy
In addition to this, we will also have some of our lead economists from the US, who will be giving their input on the following issues:
• Benchmarking EIS results
• How American Community Colleges use the studies
• How to increase your local impact
• Answering any questions you may have about the detail in your EIS
Invitations for this event will go out shortly, and those wishing to attend can then sign up here.
