Since 1987, the College Marketing Network has supported marketing staff in the further education system across the country. The Network provides training and networking for those in the FE system, allowing skills and expertise to circulate through the community.
A few weeks ago, we published a case study from Dearne Valley College, explaining the role that our data has in harnessing usable labour market information. Ioan Morgan, from the College, is speaking at the College Marketing Network conference this coming Monday on the importance of labour market information in college planning and marketing. You can see more about the conference at the website here.
The eternal quest for FE colleges is discovering which courses will be most attractive to incoming students and most beneficial to the local and national economy. Labour market information, used rightly, is the solution to the problem. It can tell you which industries and occupations are growing, where they are thriving, and even predict their future trends. Supplied with this data, a FE college can tailor their curriculum, advise their students, and change their courses to suit the needs of the broader economy.
