MidKent College has added EMSI’s Career Coach solution to support current and prospective students in planning for successful and sustainable careers. The college, which will be launching its new service in the coming weeks, will be using Career Coach to link its 2012/13 course offer to detailed labour market intelligence and real-time job vacancy data.
The implementation of Career Coach comes months after the college invested in EMSI’s Analyst labour market and skills forecasting solution. MidKent College is using Analyst to help plan its curriculum offer using detailed employment profiles and forecasts to ensure that the provision reflects the changing needs of employers across Kent and Medway.
The new Career Coach service will enable the college to showcase courses offered across its Medway and Maidstone sites to the wider community and link students to great careers with local employer demand to give them the best chance of a successful career in a challenging labour market.
In addition to providing online marketing and careers support, Career Coach will help to build on the already impressive MidKent College JobShop, a service that helps students create CVs, search and apply for jobs, and learn interview techniques.
Sue Mcleod, Acting Principal at MidKent College, comments, “We’re really pleased to be adding Career Coach to our portfolio of services. It’s specifically designed to give our students and the wider community we serve the skills, support, and information to give them the best chance to fulfil their potential and boost the local economy. Career Coach perfectly complements our use of Analyst, putting detailed and unique labour market information at the heart of our curriculum planning, employer engagement, marketing, and careers support.”
